The Era of Responsibility
I kept thinking about my daughter each time “God” was referred to. I would imagine her railing and my own inability to undo our past associations and convey to her how much bigger my concept of the divine is than the word, history or connotation of “God.” Some may think it trite to sum it up as “Love.” Elizabeth Alexander stated it so beautifully today in her poem, "What if the mightiest word is love?" was I’m sure thought of as sentimental by some, the cynics. It seems to me that people are craving not only for political change but a new concept of love and yes, god.
My favorite part of his speech was when he talked about “the era of responsibility.” I let out a hearty YES!! It is time to explore the dynamic of love in self responsibility. It is possible to set aside our “childish ways” and grow into a more mature relationship with ourselves, others and the world.
I welcome these days of heart opening. It is not for the feint of heart, it is sometimes very painful and challenging but it is the path to freedom.
An Introduction
I provide telephone counseling as well as face to face relationship counseling to individuals and couples seeking a more conscious and loving relationship.
Are you and your partner struggling with communication and/or emotional reacitivity?
Does your life sometimes feel overwhelming?
Are you busy taking care of others and not yourself?
Is fear and anxiety running your life?
Are you suffering from another failed relationship or can't find the right partner?
Telephone therapy is a highly effective method of addressing all forms of relationship counseling including singles counseling, premarital counseling, the major life transitions such as having a baby, parenting, mid-life, empty nest, heartbreak and divorce.
Phone therapy can help you discover your relationship to self, others and the world. I am committed to helping individuals and couples unearth the beauty, grace, passion and power that reside beneath the wounds of rejection, betrayal, abandonment and victimization. We will explore relationship as a spiritual path – leading to deeper levels of connection and wholeness, healing childhood and relational wounds.
Through the practice of awakening, cultivating compassion and acceptance we learn forgiveness, surrender, reconciliaiton and responsibility. This process will restore passion and hope to your relationships by overcoming the power struggles and defenses that sabotage healing, wholeness and spiritual growth. By letting go of the illusion that there is something wrong with you, you also let go of the insecurity that leads to suffering caused by chronic self-judgment, depression, anxiety and addictive behaviors.
